Stefanchuk calls on France to send warplanes to Ukraine
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk has called on the government of the French Republic to recognize the Russian Federation as a terrorist state, as well as to send warplanes to Ukraine.
Stefanchuk said this in his speech in the National Assembly of France, Ukrinform reports with reference to the speaker's Facebook page.
"Many important, often fateful, decisions were approved within these walls. And today, I called on my esteemed colleagues to recognize Russia as a terrorist state," Stefanchuk said.
In addition, the Ukrainian speaker called on representatives of the National Assembly of France to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide against the Ukrainian people, to provide defense support to Ukraine, and to participate in the reconstruction of the state.
He also thanked France for its leadership role in granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership. "The Ukrainian people, who are paying an exorbitantly high price today, will definitely flourish in the family of free European nations," Stefanchuk emphasized.
In this context, he said he hopes that France will provide political support to Ukraine's application for accelerated accession to NATO, as well as send warplanes to Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk is on an official visit to the French Republic from January 30 to February 2.
