US, Israel concerned about Russia's supply of military technology to Iran in exchange for drones - Blinken
The United States intends to continue cooperation with Israel and other countries to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and supplying drones to Russia, which it uses for strikes against Ukraine.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this at a press conference in Jerusalem on Tuesday, January 31, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"On Iran, we - Israel and the United States - have a shared commitment," he said.
The commitment, he said, is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. In addition, the United States, Israel and other countries continue to stand together against the many destabilizing and dangerous actions that Iran is engaged in both in the region and beyond, Blinken said.
"One of those actions that we talked about [at the meetings in Jerusalem] was the provision by Iran to Russia of drones, technology to be used in Russia's aggression against Ukraine," Blinken said.
He added that Russia supplies Iran with military technology in exchange for drones - and this "is, of course, a real concern to us and a real concern to Israel."
