Zelensky gets Man of the Year award from Polish weekly Wprost

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken have been awarded the Man of the Year honorary title by the popular Polish weekly news magazine Wprost.

It was emphasized at the ceremony that Zelensky had received the award for his struggle, steadfastness, hope and the victory that Ukraine deserves, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"For fighting on behalf of the civilized world for a free Europe. For great faith when others had none. For steadfastness when they predicted defeat. For hope when they doubted. And above all, for the victory of Ukraine, which simply has to come," the words of praise said.

Oleh Kuts, Minister-Counsellor at the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, received the award on behalf of Zelensky.

Blinken, in turn, was awarded the title for the fact that at the time of the test, American diplomacy did not succumb to any temptation to maintain the current status quo in relations with the aggressor.

Wprost's Man of the Year award was also given to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, for his efforts in strengthening the country's defense capabilities, resulting in the Polish army being promoted to the top twenty of the prestigious Global Firepower ranking, the largest military powers in the world.
