European Parliament backed Zensky's initiative on security guarantees for Ukraine - Yermak
The European Parliament has supported President Volodymyr Zelensky's initiative on security guarantees for Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said this in a post on Telegram.
In the adopted resolution, the European Parliament called on the executive bodies of the Union and EU member states to support Ukraine's peace plan.
In the same resolution, MEPs call on the EU and its member states to cooperate with Ukraine in the issue of the Kyiv Security Compact that will contain effective mechanisms for guaranteeing and ensuring the security of Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, a new Ukrainian initiative, the so-called Kyiv Security Compact, developed by a group of experts under the chairmanship of Yermak and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, is capable of preserving peace in Europe for many decades.
