Economy, recovery, sanctions: PM Shmyhal meets with Canada’s foreign minister
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed economic cooperation, restoration of Ukraine, and sanctions against Russia with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Mélanie Joly at a meeting in Kyiv.
"We discussed a wide range of issues of our cooperation: economy, recovery, sanctions. I pointed to the importance of imposing restrictions on the Russian nuclear industry," Shmyhal posted on Telegram.
The PM added that they also talked about restoring energy and residential houses and demining territories.
"I am grateful to my Canadian colleagues for paying attention to demining which is a fundamental element of reconstruction. Minister Joly announced additional 7.5 million Canadian dollars for these needs," the Head of Government noted.
According to him, Canada's total assistance for demining will reach 22.5 million Canadian dollars.
As reported, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly said during a meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko that Canada will provide additional 7.5 million Canadian dollars for demining and training Ukrainian specialists.
