US Vice President Harris vows continued support for Ukraine from Transatlantic alliance
Russia is committing atrocities and crimes against humanity in Ukraine and must be held to account. The United States and the entire Transatlantic alliance will continue providing support for Ukraine.
The relevant statement was made by Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris at the Munich Security Conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today, a year later, Kyiv is still standing. Russia is weakened. The Transatlantic alliance is stronger than ever. And, most importantly, the spirit of the Ukrainian people endures,” Harris said.
She noted that the United States demonstrated decisive leadership, citing President Biden’s statement that the United States will support Ukraine “for as long as it takes”.
Harris drew attention to the atrocities and war crimes committed by Russian troops in Ukraine, having emphasized that it is an attack on common humanity.
According to Harris, all perpetrators of these crimes and their superiors will be held to account. Washington will continue to support the judicial process in Ukraine and international investigations, because “justice must be served”.
“We have remained strong and we must stay strong because if Putin were to succeed with his attack on these fundamental principles other nations could feel emboldened to follow his violent example. Authoritarian powers could seek to bend the world to their will,” Harris stressed.
