MFA refutes Russia’s claim that Ukraine allegedly received radiological material

The Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry has refuted Russia’s claim that Ukraine allegedly received some radiological material in order to stage a ‘provocation’.

The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry Oleg Nikolenko on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Russia’s claim that Ukraine has received radiological material to stage a ‘provocation’ is fake news. Ukraine is strictly committed to non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Don’t be misled by Russian propaganda textbook. Russians often accuse others of what they plan themselves,” Nikolenko wrote.

A reminder that, on March 1, 2023, Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Ukraine of plotting provocations, allegedly with the use of radiological materials, near Transnistria. The Government of the Republic of Moldova called Zakharova’s statement a lie.
