Ukraine, Finland to cooperate in anti-corruption efforts, prevention of cross-border crimes
Ukraine’s Director of the State Bureau of Investigation Oleksii Sukhachov and Finland’s National Police Commissioner Seppo Kolehmainen have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document provides for the exchange of information, analysis, research and other methods for the prevention, detection, termination and investigation of criminal offences.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The memorandum of understanding between the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation and the National Police Board of Finland is intended to initiate practical cooperation in the field of prevention and counteraction of corruption, organized and cross-border crimes, illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
In the course of the online meeting, Sukhachov and Kolehmainen agreed on the technical aspects of bilateral cooperation and confirmed the intention to encourage and support direct interaction.
The Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation and the National Police Board of Finland are planning to jointly organize training events, hold working meetings, conferences and workshops.
