Kuleba, European Parliament President discuss creation of special tribunal for Russia
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola discussed steps to establish a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy announced this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
“In my call with @EP_President @RobertaMetsola, I encouraged the European Parliament to keep up its vital role in tackling impunity. Following the relevant @Europarl_EN resolution, we coordinated steps toward creating a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine,” Kuleba said.
As reported, in September 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky formed a working group headed by Andriy Yermak. This group works on creating a special tribunal to prosecute Russian leadership for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
The establishment of such a tribunal has been supported by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and individual states.
