MFA Ukraine on Brazil president’s statement: Ukraine doesn’t sell out its territory

Ukraine does not trade in its territories and neither does it see any reason to give up even a centimeter of Ukrainian land.

This was reported on Facebook by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko, who commented on the statement of Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva offering to end the war in exchange for Crimea.

"Ukraine appreciates the efforts of the president of Brazil to find a solution to stop Russian aggression. At the same time, we must clearly state: Ukraine does not sell off its territories. There is no legal, political, or moral reason why we should give up even a centimeter of Ukrainian land," said Nikolenko.

The spokesman added that Ukraine's position remains unwavering: any mediation efforts to restore peace in Ukraine must be based on respect for sovereignty and full restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.

As reported, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva offered Ukraine to cede Crimea in order to end the war with Russia.
