First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Dzhaparova of Ukraine, at a meeting with the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sanjay Verma of India, invited the country to join the international initiatives put forward by the Ukrainian president.
That’s according to Dzhaparova's tweet, seen by Ukrinform.
“Pleased to have a meeting with Secretary (West) MFA Sanjay Verma of India in New Delhi. Updated on Ukraine’s efforts to fight russian unprovoked aggression. Invited India to join President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula & Grain From Ukraine initiative. Important to have India on board,” Emine Dzhaparova tweeted on Monday.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on Monday, Emine Dzhaparova kicked off her two-day visit to India.
The Grain from Ukraine program was initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky. It provides for the purchase of Ukrainian grain by partner nations and its delivery to countries suffering from a humanitarian crisis. The program is implemented in partnership with the UN World Food Program.
As of March 31, 2023, Ukraine has exported 26.3 million tonnes of agricultural products since the program was launched in August 2022.
