China, Brazil called on more countries to contribute to political settlement of "Ukraine crisis"

China’s President Xi Jinping and his Brazilian counterpart Lula da Silva during the negotiations in Beijing, exchanged views on the "Ukraine crisis," calling on other countries to play a constructive role in its political settlement.

This, among other things, was stated in MFA China’s report following the meeting of the two leaders, an Ukrinform correspondent saw.

“Both sides agreed that dialogue and negotiation is the only feasible way for settling it and that all efforts that are conducive to its peaceful resolution should be encouraged and supported,” the report reads.

Xi and da Silva appealed to “more countries” to play a constructive role in a political settlement of the “Ukraine crisis.”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is on a state visit to China on April 12-14.

The head of Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, announced on the eve of the visit that da Silva intended to discuss during the meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, the war launched by Russia against Ukraine.
