Canada, UK agree on long-term support for Ukraine

The United Kingdom and Canada have coordinated their positions on long-term support for Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly reported this on Twitter.

"Kicking off the G7 with [UK Foreign Secretary] James Cleverly. We discussed the need for long-term support for Ukraine as they continue to fight for their freedom," Joly wrote.

She added that Canada and the United Kingdom had stood with the Ukrainian people since day 1. "We intend to do so for as long as it takes," Joly said.

The foreign ministers of the G7 countries are meeting in the Japanese city of Karuizawa. Among the topics they discuss are Russia's war against Ukraine and increased pressure on Moscow.
