President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise.

The Head of State awarded Kallas during their joint briefing in Zhytomyr, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Today it is an honor for me to present you with a special award of our people on behalf of the entire Ukrainian people. This is the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise. I thank you for the fact that Ukraine, your people, and your state make a new history of Europe together," Zelensky said.

Kallas thanked Zelensky for the award and noted that this is her first visit abroad as the new head of government. She added that her presence in Ukraine symbolizes the support and faith of the Estonian government and the Estonian people in Ukraine.

"Freedom must definitely overcome tyranny. That's our common motive and that's our top priority focus on weapons, training, and ammunition. All this must continue on a sufficient scale for Ukraine to win this war.

This is also the reason why I suggested that the EU should jointly purchase a million artillery shells for Ukraine and send them directly to Ukraine. The decision was adopted in March and now we need to make sure that it will be properly implemented," Kallas added.

As reported, Estonia considers military aid to Ukraine, which has currently reached 1% of the country's GDP, as an investment in its own security.
