Estonia’s prime minister visits Kyiv region

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, Kaia Kallas, visited Bucha and Borodianka, the two towns in Kyiv region gravely affected by the Russian invasion early into the start of the full-scale war.

This was reported on Telegram by the press service of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform saw.

"The Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, Kaia Kallas, visited Kyiv region. During her trip to the region, she was accompanied by the head of the Kyiv RMA, Ruslan Kravchenko, First Deputy Head of the KRMA Dmytro Nazarenko, and representatives from the local authorities," the statement says.

It is noted that Kallas visited Borodyanka, where she was shown a monument of Taras Shevchenko, shot at by Russian troops.

During her visit to Bucha, the prime minister visited the site of mass burials of civilians killed by the Russian military, outside St Andrew’s Church.

Kravchenko thanked Kallas for Estonia’s assistance provided since the outset of Russia’s military aggression.

"It is extremely important that Estonia was one of the first nations to officially condemn the Russians' desire to destroy the Ukrainian nation, culture, history, and identity. It is possible to defeat the aggressor power, protect freedom and independence only through joint efforts," he said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine conferred on Kaia Kallas the Order of Yaroslav the Wise.
