Shmyhal arrives in Rome to negotiate further support for Ukraine
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal arrived in Rome, chairing a Ukrainian delegation, to negotiate with the Italian authorities on further assistance to Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian war.
The prime minister wrote about this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"We arrived in Rome to participate in the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine. We will discuss urgent issues with the President, Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense of Italy, as well as with the heads of chambers of the Italian Parliament. We plan to sign a number of bilateral documents that will contribute to the restoration of Ukraine," Shmyhal said.
According to the government head, the Cabinet, together with its international partners, is forming “strong and unwavering support” for Ukraine across the world, attracting foreign businesses to the reconstruction of the embattled country.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Pope Francis will receive Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of Ukraine on April 27, on the eve of the pontiff's apostolic visit to Hungary. According to the Vatican, the meeting in the Apostolic Palace is scheduled for Thursday.
