Zelensky, Meloni talk defense cooperation

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine discussed with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni continued defense cooperation and future international events.

The head of the Ukrainian state announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"I had a phone call with Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni. Thanked her for holding the conference on the recovery of Ukraine and for her personal leadership in unflagging support for the Ukrainian people. We also discussed further defense cooperation and upcoming international events," Zelensky wrote.

As reported earlier, a bilateral conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine was held in Rome on April 26. President Zelensky addressed the participants via video conference.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced several important agreements that are planned to be signed during the Conference.

Several memoranda will be signed off: between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Italian Trade Agency to intensify trade relations; between the Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) and the MERMEC company which specializes in diagnostics of railway tracks; between agricultural associations for the implementation of modern projects in the process of restoration of Ukraine; between the company We Build and Ukrhydroenergo on cooperation in the construction of hydroelectric power stations.
