Bulgaria reports “unprecedented hybrid attacks” by Russia

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov says his country is facing unprecedented hybrid attacks from Russia amid Moscow's military aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by Novinite, according to Ukrinform.

"In parallel with Russia's aggressive military actions, we are facing an unprecedented increase in various hybrid attacks aimed at undermining Bulgaria's stability and thereby our democratic values and processes," Milkov said at the opening of the conference "Responding to Challenges in a Fragmented Security Architecture: Countering Russian Hybrid Actions" organized by the Sofia Security Forum.

According to him, the Russian aggression, which is taking place in the immediate vicinity of Bulgaria's borders, is a gross violation of the international legal order and has dealt a serious blow to the current international security architecture, which has led to significant consequences for public and political life, including in Bulgaria.

"Russia uses a full arsenal of hybrid tactics, instrumentalization of energy and basic food supplies, cyber activities of control over sensitive technologies, unprecedented strengthening of propaganda aimed at internal political destabilization of our societies - provoking discontent and reducing solidarity with Ukraine," minister said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Moldovan Defense Ministry said that the country is not currently facing an immediate military threat but remains the target of a hybrid war unleashed by Russia in an attempt to overthrow the government.
