Zelensky has first-ever phone call with president of Comoros

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Azali Assoumani, President of the Comoros, the development of cooperation between Ukraine and Africa, including in the context of food security, and invited him to join the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

The Head of State wrote this on his Twitter account, Ukrinform reports.

 "I’m glad to have the first call in the history of our relations with President of the Comoros Azali Assoumani. Congratulated my colleague on his election as the Head of the African Union. Noted that Ukraine is interested in developing cooperation with Africa and is ready to remain a guarantor of food security in the world. Thanked my colleague for his principled position and support of Ukraine at the UN and other platforms. Invited him to join the implementation of the Peace Formula,” Zelensky noted.

The African Union is an intergovernmental organization consisting of 55 African countries. The organization was established on July 9, 2002 as a successor of the merged African Economic Community and the Organization of African Unity.
