President, U.S. Congress members discuss situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP, grain corridor
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with a bipartisan delegation of the House of Representatives of the United States. The situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP and the grain corridor were discussed.
As the President’s Office informs, the Head of State said that such visits to Ukraine are a powerful signal of support from the United States for our country, the entire Ukrainian people, which is especially important at a time when the aggressor state has resumed heavy missile terror against Ukrainian cities.
"You see that the war is going on not only on the battlefield but also here in the capital. So I thank you very much for this meeting and for this dialogue, for supporting Ukraine," Zelensky said.
The President thanked the representatives of the Congress for the powerful bicameral and bipartisan support for our state and the comprehensive assistance provided by the United States to Ukraine in our struggle for our own future and the future of our common values – freedom and democracy.
"We are grateful for your help, leadership not only on the battlefield but also for financial support," he said.
The Head of State said that continued assistance is a guarantee of Ukraine's success in the fight against Russian aggression.
Zelensky briefed the U.S. delegation on the situation on the front line. At the meeting, the key areas of further U.S. assistance in the field of security and defense were discussed in detail. The President spoke separately about the priority needs of Ukraine's defense forces.
The issue of extending the grain corridor, the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, and other important topics on the bilateral agenda were also raised at the meeting.
