Shmyhal meets with Iceland’s PM
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir.
"Had a meeting with Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir. Thanked for the initiative of holding the 4th summit of the heads of states and governments of the Council of Europe,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister said in a Telegram post.
According to Shmyhal, the parties raised the issue of creating a special international tribunal and a mechanism for compensation for damages caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine. He also noted that Ukraine expects positive decisions based on the results of the summit
In addition, Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Iceland for political and humanitarian support, in particular, efforts in providing Ukraine with mobile hospitals and support for the Peace Formula proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
As reported by Ukrinform, on May 16, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with a government team, arrived in Iceland for a two-day summit of the Council of Europe.
