Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk has started his official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark.

The relevant statement was made by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Copenhagen. Denmark. I have started my official visit and have already held a meeting with my colleague, the Speaker of the Folketing of the Kingdom of Denmark, Søren Gade. The first and foremost thing that was discussed during the conversation was weapons for Ukraine,” Stefanchuk wrote.

In his words, among other things, the parties also discussed the supply of missile defense and air defense systems, artillery, ammunition, heavy military equipment, tanks and aircraft, including the F-16 fighter jets.

“Modern fighter aircraft, such as the F-16, will help us change the rules on the battlefield and the course of warfare dramatically. I urged Denmark to join the formation of an air coalition. Also, our request is drones of all types,” Stefanchuk added.

Additionally, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the Speaker of the Folketing discussed Ukraine’s future NATO membership. Stefanchuk called on the Danish Parliament to consider the possibility of adopting a resolution or a statement in support of Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance.

“I also hope to hear the voice of the Folketing in support of our Euro-Atlantic integration prior to the Vilnius Summit! After all, it is extremely important for Ukraine to hear in July in Vilnius the modality, logistics and time frame of Ukraine’s accession to NATO,” Stefanchuk stressed.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Denmark for comprehensive military, financial and humanitarian assistance.
