Together with partners, Ukraine must prevent circumvention of sanctions against Russia – Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a special meeting on sanctions against Russia, involving the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the President’s Office and Government.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his video address, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We analyzed in great detail how Russia circumvents sanctions and who helps it. […] We see every direction of circumvention of existing sanctions, every country whose territory or jurisdiction, whose citizens are used by Russia to continue terror. And we must close all such areas – together with our partners – to ensure that Russian missiles and weapons do not contain products of the free world. The necessary steps will be taken,” Zelensky told.
In his words, Russia continues to produce terrorist weapons, namely missiles, with the help of different countries and different companies. The terrorist state manages to use the technologies of the world through a network of suppliers, and manages to circumvent international sanctions regimes.
President Zelensky mentioned that sanctions are a mandatory part of Russia’s accountability for its crimes. Global sanctions make Russia pay the price for what it is doing and should limit the aggressor’s capacity for terror as much as possible.
