Zelensky, Trudeau meeting in Kyiv

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has begun a meeting with Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland in Kyiv.

That’s according to the President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.

"I welcome Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and representatives of his team to Ukraine. Despite all Russia's efforts to bow our people, Ukrainians continue to fight for independence and freedom. And in our victory, we will stand together just as we are standing now – on our way to defend life and people," the press service of the President of Ukraine quotes Zelensky as saying.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau together with the Deputy Prime Minister of the country, Chrysta Freeland, arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.

Canada is allocating another CAD500 million (about $400 million) in military aid to Ukraine, according to the Canadian government press service.
