France condemns new wave of Russian missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine
France condemns in the strongest terms the new wave of Russian missile strikes that recently targeted the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions.
The French Foreign Ministry said this in a statement published by the French Embassy in Ukraine on Wednesday, June 14, according to Ukrinform.
"These strikes once again deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure and residential buildings, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. They caused several victims, in particular in the city of Kryvyi Rih, where six people lost their lives, according to a provisional report by the Ukrainian authorities," the statement said.
The French Foreign Ministry recalled that as French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna has repeatedly pointed out, these unacceptable acts constitute war crimes and cannot go unpunished.
"France will continue to provide support to the Ukrainian courts and to the International Criminal Court in order to fight against impunity for such crimes," the statement said.
In Kryvyi Rih, the Russian army targeted a five-story residential building and other civilian objects in the early hours of June 13, killing 12 people.
Russia's missile attack on Odesa early on June 14 left three people dead and 13 others injured.
