Ukraine's presidential adviser responds to Putin's meeting with African delegation

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has reacted sharply to a meeting of Kremlin chief Putin with an African delegation.

He said this on his Twitter account, Ukrinform reports.

"Typical Russian... fraud. An internationally wanted war criminal with an arrest warrant complains to African leaders that he is acting solely within the UN Charter," Podolyak wrote.

He noted that it is Russia that is the aggressor that violated the UN Charter by invading Ukraine, occupying its territories, killing, torturing and deporting people.

He also recalled a terrorist attack by the Russians who blew up the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

"What does the UN Charter say about demonstrative executions, torture of prisoners, and show trials? Perhaps some other version of international law is taught at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations," Podolyak added.

Earlier reports said that the Kremlin would use the June 17 meeting with African leaders and their rhetoric to slow Western aid to Ukraine.
