Zelensky, Sunak discuss long-range weapons for Ukraine, NATO summit, sanctions against Russia

President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed expanding Ukraine's capabilities on the battlefield, preparing for the NATO Summit in Vilnius, implementing the Ukrainian Peace Formula, and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia in a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak.

“We discussed the defense needs of Ukraine and our further cooperation to expand Ukraine's capabilities on the battlefield, in particular through long-range weapons. We coordinated our positions with Rishi Sunak on the eve of the NATO Summit in Vilnius. It is important for Ukraine to get concrete membership prospects,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.

He also noted that steps to implement the Peace Formula and prepare security guarantees for Ukraine were touched upon in the conversation with UK Prime Minister.

The President of Ukraine also emphasized the need to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, particularly as Russia ramps up production of missiles using Western components.
