Zelensky welcomes EU’s 11th package sanctions, expects next one to target Russia’s nuclear industry

President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the EU’s decision to adopt the 11th package of sanctions against Russia, and expects further strengthening of restrictions, including those targeting Russian nuclear energy.

The head of state noted this on Twitter, reports Ukrinform.

"Welcome a long awaited and an important EU Council adoption of 11th package of EU sanctions, aimed at halting Russia’s sanction circumvention. Looking forward to its effective implementation to stop Russia’s war machine and further strengthening of EU restrictive measures, including against Russia’s nuclear energy sector," Zelensky emphasized.

As reported earlier, on June 23, the European Union adopted and published the details of the 11th package of sanctions targeting the Russian Federation.
