Kuleba, Blinken discuss latest events in Russia
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba of Ukraine and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the latest developments in Russia in a phone call.
Kuleba announced this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"In our call today, Secretary Blinken and I exchanged our assessments of events unfolding in Russia. We are watching them very closely. Ukraine remains focused on achieving the goals of its counteroffensive in the territory of Ukraine with the steadfast support of our American allies," Kuleba tweeted on Saturday.
As reported by Ukrinform, Blinken previously discussed the developments in Russia with the top diplomats from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
On June 23, the leader of Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, declared a demarche against the Russian military leadership, in particular against Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu.
According to the Wagner chief, Shoigu flew to Rostov-on-Don, where he personally supervised an operation to destroy the Wagner forces’ unit.
Wagner Group seized control over military facilities in Rostov-on-Don.
