G7 Ambassadors on appointment of Head of ARMA: It is important to follow procedures
The ambassadors of the Group of Seven countries drew attention to the concerns of civil society regarding the appointment of the head of ARMA and emphasized the importance of building trust in this institution.
That's according to a statement by the Japanese presidency of the G7 Ambassadors' Group on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"G7 have been following the ARMA appointment process carefully and note Civil Society concern over the procedures taken. Important that due procedures are followed to build confidence in ARMA," the G7 ambassadors said.
As reported, on June 28, Olena Duma was named the competition winner among candidates for the position of head of ARMA. Later, a scandal erupted over the facts of her biography.
On June 29, Dmytro Ostapenko, a member of the selection committee for the selection of candidates for the position of head of the National Agency for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA), withdrew his signature for the winner of the competition, Olena Duma.
