International Center for Prosecution for Crime of Aggression against Ukraine to open in The Hague on July 3

The International Center for the Prosecution for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine (ICPA) will open in The Hague on Monday, July 3, 2023.

As an Ukrinform correspondent in The Hague reports, the press conference on the ICPA opening will be held at the Eurojust building in The Hague.

European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders, President of Eurojust Ladislav Hamran, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Karim Khan, U.S. Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite, Jr. will take part in the event.

It is worth noting that this is the first case of the creation of an initiative to investigate the crime of aggression with international support after World War II.

As reported, Ukraine, together with its partners, is promoting the creation of a special tribunal to prosecute the leadership of the Russian Federation for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

The creation of such a tribunal was supported by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and individual states.
