International Center for Prosecution of Crime of Aggression against Ukraine opens in The Hague

The International Center for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine has started its operations in The Hague.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Ukrainian prosecutors have already arrived in The Hague to work at the Center.

The entrance to the building of the institution is closed.

European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders, Eurojust President Ladislav Hamran, Ukraine's Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan and Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division in the United States Department of Justice Kenneth Polite, Jr. are taking part in a press conference dedicated to the opening of the Center.

Ukraine and its partners are promoting the creation of a special tribunal to prosecute Russia's leadership for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and individual countries supported the creation of the tribunal.
