Zelensky urges NATO in Vilnius to motivate Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that, at the NATO Summit in Vilnius, it is necessary to prove to any Russian regimes that they will never have the right to veto an independent choice of European nations for their future.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the meeting with representatives of Bulgarian political circles, civil society and media, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Vilnius is now one of the key stages. It is there that we can and must prove that Russian regimes – whatever they may be – will no longer have a ‘veto’ over the free choice of the European nations to determine their future. Ukraine is choosing the Alliance, NATO’s door is open, so it is time for an invitation to enter. When Ukraine chooses its future independently, and our choice really works, it means that the whole of Europe chooses and will always choose its future without external coercion,” Zelensky said.
In his words, the current Russian regime is the last enslaver of nations in Europe, and this regime must lose, both on the battlefield and in politics, so that all people in Europe can win.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine has united the world and strengthened the Alliance itself, and deserves to take its place among the Alliance members.
The President of Ukraine compared an invitation to join NATO with EU candidate status, which is also a technical step but shows the attitude to Ukraine. This motivates people to work in Ukraine, fight on the battlefield for a specific, clear future.
A reminder that, on July 6, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was paying a visit to Bulgaria.
