Vilnius summit will bring Ukraine closer to NATO - Stoltenberg

The upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius will help strengthen political relations between NATO and Ukraine and reaffirm Allies' support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this at a press conference in Brussels on Friday ahead of the NATO summit, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

According to him, NATO will express support for Ukraine in three areas, including by approving a multi-year support program for Ukraine, increasing the level of political cooperation through the establishment of the NATO-Ukraine Council, and reaffirming that Ukraine will become a member of NATO.

Stoltenberg confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would participate in the first, inaugural meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council in Vilnius.
