Core Group on creation of Special Tribunal includes representatives of 38 countries and organizations

The Coalition (Core Group) on the creation of a Special Tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine includes representatives of 38 countries and several representatives of international organizations that have already held several working meetings.

"To date, this Core Group consists of representatives of 38 countries. In addition, several representatives of international organizations participate in its work," Anton Korynevych, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, told a briefing.

Korynevych noted that the coalition was created at the level of legal advisers of the ministries of foreign affairs to discuss various legal, technical, political issues regarding the creation of the Special Tribunal and, in general, ensuring accountability for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

The Ambassador noted that the Core Group had already held several working meetings this year in Prague, Strasbourg, Tallinn, and Warsaw and already had an action plan for the next six months.

As reported, Ukraine, together with its partners, promotes the creation of a special tribunal to prosecute the leadership of the Russian Federation for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

The creation of such a tribunal was supported by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and individual countries.
