Russian missile terror presumably aims to turn Ukrainian people against their leaders – UK envoy
United Kingdom Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons believes that Russia’s objective of causing terror against Odesa and other cities may be to turn the people of Ukraine against their own leaders.
The relevant statement was made by United Kingdom Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Presumably, the Russian objective of terrorising Odesa and other cities with bombs is to turn Ukrainian people against their own leaders. I don’t see any signs of that. I see the reverse. Independent polls in Ukraine agree. It’s just Russia that thinks killing people will make them like Russia more,” Simmons wrote.
A reminder that, on the night of July 23, 2023, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the city of Odesa and the Odesa region, having fired 19 missiles of different types. One civilian was reported killed and 22 injured, including four children.
