Liberia backs Ukraine’s Peace Formula

Liberia has expressed readiness to join the implementation of the Peace Formula and take part in the corresponding summit.

This was stated by President George Weah during a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Dmytro Kuleba Affairs of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of MFA Ukraine.

The parties discussed Russian aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for international peace and security. The minister spoke in detail about the 10 points of President Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula, which aims to restore a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

"In response, the Liberian side resolutely condemned Russia's attack on Ukraine and expressed readiness to join efforts to implement the Peace Formula and hold a corresponding summit," the foreign ministry reported.

During Kuleba's meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Dee-Maxwell Kemayah, special attention was paid to Russia's withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which used to play an important role in ensuring global food security. The Liberian minister expressed his support for the steps Ukraine is taking to preserve the maritime export of Ukrainian grain.

The interlocutors also discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, construction, health care, and education.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 23, Dmytro Kuleba kicked off his third Africa tour with a visit to Equatorial Guinea.
