Berlin to give no assessment to Ukrainian Army’s performance - spox
Germany supports Ukraine in its efforts to liberate its territories and does not consider its task to evaluate the way Kyiv is achieving its goals.
This was reported by the German Federal Government press official, Christine Hoffmann, who spoke at a briefing in Berlin on Wednesday, responding to an inquiry to comment on Berlin’s attitude to the strategy and tactics pursued by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in recent days, in particular, strikes on individual targets on Russian soil, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"This is Ukraine's business, how to defend its own territory and how to defend against this illegal Russian aggression. It is not our business to evaluate it. We support Ukraine in their defensive struggle against Russian aggression," Hoffmann emphasized.
She assured that Berlin had taken note of the latest developments and is following the updates very carefully, adding that they are not going to give an assessment of how Ukraine is running its war effort.
As reported, Germany has not yet agreed to send Ukraine long-range cruise missiles due to fears that the Armed Forces could fire them at targets on Russian soil.
Earlier, the same argument was made during the discussion of main battle tank supplies.
