President’s Office holds meeting with Canadian MPs
Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha has met with the representatives of the Parliament of Canada. The parties discussed the situation on the battlefield, the training of the Ukrainian military, and the operation of the Black Sea grain corridor.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Chair of Canada’s House of Commons Standing Committee on National Defence James Bezan and Member of Canada’s House of Commons Standing Committee on National Defence Pat Kelly, who are paying a visit to Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Sybiha praised the current support for Ukraine from the Parliament of Canada and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Canada and the Canadian people for the comprehensive assistance to the Ukrainian people, especially defense and financial, in the struggle against Russian invaders.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine briefed the interlocutors on the situation on the battlefield and stressed the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense before the winter period, namely to protect the country’s energy infrastructure, as well as increased and accelerated arms supplies for Ukraine.
Sybiha mentioned that Canada’s active involvement in the training of Ukrainian servicemen is extremely important and expressed hope that the Canadian side would also contribute to the training of Ukrainian pilots in the future.
Separately, the parties considered food security issues and the importance of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the Black Sea grain corridor in this regard.
Canadian representatives assured the Ukrainian side of further unwavering support for Ukraine from both the governing coalition and the opposition forces of Canada.
