Nauseda in Australia: Free world needs to stand together for Ukraine’s victory
At a meeting in Canberra with Australia’s Governor-General David Hurley, Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nauseda discussed the cooperation between the two countries, the partnership between Australia and NATO, as well as the support for Ukraine, in which Nauseda says the whole free world should unite.
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the Lithuanian president’s press service.
“The entire free world has to stand together for Ukraine’s victory. Only such a victory will deter other potential aggressors in the world from being tempted to follow the precedent set by Russia,” the president of Lithuania said.
He invited Australia to join projects on Ukraine’s reconstruction, as well as to Lithuania's initiative to create a mine clearance coalition, which would mobilize efforts to clear the territories of Ukraine that have been liberated from Russian occupation.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further efforts to isolate Russia in the international arena and continue the sanctions policy, which weakens the aggressor’s military potential.

The meeting discussed the partnership between NATO and the Indo-Pacific region, which was consolidated at the NATO Vilnius Summit, and which strengthens global security and the rules-based international order. The common interest of both regions in reducing their dependence on the Chinese market and the importance of cooperation in building resilient supply chains for key technologies and materials was also addressed.
Nauseda also emphasized that Lithuanian-Australian cooperation, which is being strengthened, opens up large opportunities for investment and trade, primarily in the field of life sciences, financial technologies, and defense industries.
