Stefanchuk meets with Czech foreign minister

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk has discussed the issue of Ukrainian-Czech cooperation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky.

The speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

“It is important that the Czech Republic, like no other, understands that Ukraine protects not only itself and its freedom, but also the entire democratic world. And it is important to feel the support of our partners," he wrote.

Stefanchuk said he discussed topical issues of Ukrainian-Czech cooperation with Lipavsky.

"Ukraine appreciates that the Czech Republic was one of the first countries to adopt the national program for Ukraine’s recovery," the Verkhovna Rada chairman emphasized.

He also thanked the Czech Republic for the important military, financial and humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine since the full-scale Russian invasion.

The politicians also paid special attention to defense issues. Stefanchuk stressed that Ukraine needs air defense systems, artillery and ammunition, heavy military equipment.

"Ukraine hopes for further defense support from the Czech Republic and all global partners," the speaker said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ruslan Stefanchuk took part in the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform in Prague the day before.
