Ukraine calls on Mongolia to join peace summit in Switzerland

Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis at a meeting with Mongolian Ambassador to Ukraine Dorj Barkhas called on his country to take part in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said this in a statement, Ukrinform reports.

Perebyinis thanked Barkhas, who is completing his diplomatic mission, for his personal contribution to developing relations between the two countries as Ukraine fights off Russia's full-scale aggression.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. Perebyinis called on the Mongolian side to join the Ukrainian initiative and participate in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on intensifying cooperation between Ukraine and Mongolia in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

The Global Peace Summit is due to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16, with heads of state and government from all continents expected to attend. The participating countries will develop a joint negotiating position and submit it to Russia.

The Ukrainian Peace Formula is a diplomatic mechanism offered by Ukraine to achieve a just end to the war started by Russia.

Earlier reports said that 107 countries and international organizations had confirmed their participation in the Peace Summit.
