Canada sanctions Yanukovych-era officials

Canada has added ten associates of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to the sanctions list.

The updated list of sanctions has been published on the website of the Canadian government, Ukrinform reports.

Canada introduced restrictive measures against Vitalii Zakharchenko, Mykola Azarov, Oleksii Azarov, Andrii Kliuiev, Serhiy Kurchenko, Viktor Pshonka, Artem Pshonka, Dmytro Tabachnyk, Raisa Bohatyriova, and Oleksandr Yakymenko.

The sanctions consist of an asset freeze and a travel ban on the sanctioned individuals in Canada.

Since Russia's temporary occupation of Crimea, Canada has imposed sanctions on more than 3,000 individuals and legal entities that contributed to the violation of Ukraine's sovereignty.
