Ukraine will join the North Atlantic Alliance when the window of opportunity opens, and the country's membership in NATO is a historical fact.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this in an interview with Ukrinform, commenting on the statement by U.S. President Joe Biden that he is not ready to support the "NATOization of Ukraine."

"As for Ukraine's membership in NATO, I am convinced that this is a historical fact. Ukraine will be in the Alliance, because in today's world, it is simply impossible to imagine the security of the Euro-Atlantic community without Ukraine and our army. Whether someone likes it or not, this is the reality," he said.

Kuleba said he was sure that Ukraine's accession to the military alliance is a matter of having a window of opportunity, and now the country is preparing as much as possible for this historic moment.

"When it comes, Ukraine's accession to NATO should take weeks, not months or years," the minister said.

At the same time, he added that Biden supports Ukraine.

"I am convinced that he sincerely wants Ukraine's victory over Russian aggression," Kuleba said.

Biden said earlier that Russia would never be able to occupy Ukrainian territories, however, in his opinion, this should not necessarily mean Ukraine's membership in NATO.
