Switzerland wants to meet all points of view at Peace Summit - Foreign Minister
During the Global Peace Summit in Bürgenstock, Switzerland aims to hold a dialogue at the highest political level, where all points of view will come together.
This was stated by the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, who spoke at a press conference on the progress of preparations and security measures for the Global Peace Summit, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"At Bürgenstock, we aim to meet all points of view," Cassis said.
The official noted that after intensive months of preparation, the countries are ready to hold a dialogue at the highest political level for the first time.
He said that deep discussions would be held in Bürgenstock on topics important not only for Ukraine, but also for the whole world: the situation with prisoners of war, nuclear threats, and food security. According to the top diplomat, the ongoing conflict has implications for the entire international community.
Cassis noted that the topics for discussion will include humanitarian aid, nuclear security, and food security – elements, as indicated by the chief of Swiss diplomacy, of various peace plans for Ukraine, such as the African, Chinese, Brazilian, and Ukrainian peace formulas.
According to the official, "they represent the measures of trust necessary to build a grammar of peace, beyond the different points of view of this war."
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Global Peace Summit will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16. It is expected that it will be attended by heads of state and government from all continents, who will come together to discuss possible ways to implement the Ukrainian Peace Formula. At this time, more than 100 countries and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the event.
