Zelensky, Modi discuss preparations for Peace Summit

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine met with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Italy to discuss preparations for the upcoming Global Summit on Peace in Ukraine.

That’s according to Zelensky’s post on Telegram, seen by Ukrinform.

“I met with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi during my working visit to Italy to participate in the G7 Summit,” Zelensky wrote.

The parties talked of the preparations for the Global Peace Summit and the items on the Summit's agenda. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending a high-level delegation to the Summit,” the president stressed.

The two leaders also discussed the development of bilateral relations and the expansion of trade, including in the context of the Black Sea export corridor’s operation.

“We considered the possibility of sharing experience in applying new technology in the area of agriculture,” Zelensky added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Global Piece Summit will be held in Switzerland on June 15-16. Heads of state and government from all continents are expected to take part. The participating nations will develop a joint negotiating position before handing it over to Russia.

The Ukrainian peace formula is a diplomatic mechanism put forward by Ukraine to achieve a just end to the war unleashed by Russia.
