EU ambassadors agree on negotiation framework for accession of Ukraine and Moldova

On Friday, the countries of the European Union agreed in principle at the level of permanent representatives on the framework of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU.

This is stated in the official statement of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on the X network, Ukrinform reports.

“Ambassadors agreed in principle on the negotiating frameworks for the accession negotiations of Ukraine  and Moldova,” the statement reads.

It is specified that the Belgian Presidency will call the first intergovernmental conference on this issue on June 25.

As reported, Hungary had previously blocked the possibility of deciding to be considered by the intergovernmental conference. In June, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU expires, and in the second half of the year, it will be taken over by Hungary's Presidency.
