Zelensky thanks Patriarch Bartholomew for helping return Ukrainian children

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on the sidelines of the Global Peace Summit and thanked him for his support in the return of Ukrainian children and the exchange of prisoners of war.

The Ukrainian leader said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app, Ukrinform reports.

"I met with His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Thank you for your humanitarian support for Ukraine, especially in the matter of the return of Ukrainian children and the exchange of prisoners. Thank you for your prayers for peace and help for Ukrainians who suffered as a result of Russian aggression. This is very important to us," Zelensky said.

He also noted that he appreciates the efforts of His Holiness to promote the development and strengthening of Orthodoxy in Ukraine and the dialogue with the clergy from countries around the world and partner states on this issue.
