Next Peace Summit may be held before US presidential election - Swiss foreign minister

A follow-up summit on peace in Ukraine may be held before the U.S. presidential election.

Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis stated this at a press conference following the first Peace Summit in Bürgenstock, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Asked whether it is possible to hold a second Peace Summit before the U.S. presidential election in November, Cassis said that such a summit may be held before the U.S. elections. However, it depends on the will of the organizing states, the will of Ukraine, and the will of great powers.

Commenting on Vladimir Putin's ultimatums regarding the terms of the ceasefire, the Swiss Foreign Minister said that this, of course, was in sharp contrast to the will of all those who participated in this conference.

He also stressed that the vast majority of participants signed a joint communiqué, which is a "great success."

As reported by Ukrinform, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the issue of holding the second Global Peace Summit in Saudi Arabia is being discussed.

Swiss President Viola Amgerd said that Switzerland is ready to hold the next high-level peace meetings for Ukraine if necessary.
