China not to comment on results of Peace Summit in Switzerland
China did not participate in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and will not comment on its results and the final communiqué, which refers to the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity as the basis for any peace agreement with Russia.
This was stated at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"China did not attend this peace summit and will not comment on the joint statement," Lin said in response to journalists' requests to share his thoughts on the summit's final document.
The diplomat added that on the Ukrainian issue, China's position remains consistent and clear (one of its key points is an immediate ceasefire truce, which is in line with Russia's desire - ed.)
As reported, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Mykola Tochytskyi said that in China's first peace plan regarding Russian aggression against Ukraine, the number one point was the restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty. The new six-point proposal does not show China's initial attempts to return to international law.
